All I see is fear
It increases your pulse and traps your heart
sinking like quicksand, the more I struggle, the more I drop
Lost in this emptiness, I’m just embracing my fate now
It was clear from the beginning how this was going to end,
though I fought it every step of the way
I tasted how it would feel in my nightmares
Like a child faced with a clown, I run in fear
And I become absolutely terrified
My stride lengthens to its full extent as adrenaline pumps through me
I am reaching my goal but this is so new to me
The oxygen thins at the top of the mountain
Making every breath drag painfully,
Painstakingly searching for a foothold,
Grasping the cool rocks, slicing through skin
Pain is nothing compared to the beauty of the view.
